University Hospitals of Derby and Burton Pharmacy department are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic clinical pharmacist to work alongside the Rheumatology MDT to lead on the management of biological patients within the Rheumatology service at the Queens Hospital Burton site.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop the specialist clinical pharmacy service to the Rheumatology team in line with local and national standards and policies, ensuring the safe, clinical, and cost-effective use of biological medicines within UHDB.

You will support service development through identification and implementation of a pharmacist prescribing role to support biological medicines within the Rheumatology team as well as developing and implementing our medicines homecare services for UHDB, ensuring a quality service for our patients which aims to safeguard patients whilst offering choice and making best use of NHS resources.

The pharmacy department and rheumatology team are committed to developing the roles of pharmacist prescribers and the successful applicant would be expected to train as a prescriber and actively contribute towards improving the standards of prescribing.

If you are a registered pharmacist with hospital experience and a passion for developing new ideas, this may be the post for you.
