Provision of care & service delivery Provide high-quality and current evidence-based medical care to the patients of the Indigo Gender Service. Provide clinical services required as part of the Indigo Gender Services contract held with the NHS England specialist commissioners. Undertake all necessary and relevant paperworpersonk associated with the provision of medical services. Operate as part of a wider networked clinical team with partner clinicians for peer development, peer support and provision of relevant services. Potentially undertake clinics during extended hours in accordance with the access needs of the service population and the contractual obligation of the service. Any evening and weekend commitments will be shared equally and fairly across the GP team. Provide support to other clinical professionals within the service, e.g., Advanced Clinical Practitioners, practice nurses and care navigators. Clinical Governance Practising in accordance with GMC Good Medical Practice, NHS England service specifications and relevant national clinical guidance. Maintaining high standards of clinical care through adherence to agreed clinical pathways, policies and protocols. Participating in multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussions and shared clinical decision-making where appropriate. Contributing to clinical audit, quality improvement activity and service evaluation to support the continuous development of the service. Participating in significant event analysis, incident reporting and complaints review processes in line with organisational policy. Maintaining accurate, contemporaneous and secure clinical records in accordance with information governance and data protection requirements. Supporting a culture of reflective practice, learning and continuous improvement within the clinical team. Participating in clinical supervision, appraisal, revalidation and professional development in line with GMC requirements. Clinical and service development Support the achievement of contractual requirements and targets. Actively participate in the development of the service and relationships with existing services to provide a holistic, community focused service that meets the needs of a diverse group of patients. Work as an integral member of the clinical and non clinical team, contributing to the efficient and effective running of the service. Support and encourage enterprise and innovation within the service by welcoming change and actively listening to new ideas and ways of working. Undertake clinical audits as required. Participate in individual and service reviews as a part of incident or complaints management process. To follow robust systems to provide safe, timely and effective care that meets the patients individual needs. Promote a culture of service user empowerment and valuing lived experience in service delivery. Development and training Participate in an ongoing personal and professional development programme including annual appraisal, supervision, job planning, re-licensing and revalidation. Ensure that mandatory training is completed within agreed timescales. Ensure regular input to meetings and communications with other staff to ensure you are engaged in service change decisions. Contribute to a collaborative culture that supports team working in the design, management and delivery of clinical services, promoting holistic and person-centred models of care. Corporate responsibilities Comply with all corporate and clinical policies and protocols. Where appropriate, engage in the management and resolution of complaints and incidents and significant events. Other duties: Any other duties, as agreed with the line manager to meet the needs of the organisation. This may include travel to other sites within the organisation.
