You will:
• Support and mentor learners in training environments, both on and off site, to meet programme requirements under the direction of tutors and the Programme Coordinator
• Work with tutors to identify additional support needs and adapt learning materials and activities to enable learners to achieve
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to help learners develop knowledge, skills, confidence and independence
• Identify barriers to learning and implementing strategies to support learners in overcoming challenges
• Support tutors with learner portfolios, assessments, progress reviews, feedback and programme administration
• Promote positive behaviour management and applying policies fairly and consistently while maintaining accurate records where required
• Contribute to creative approaches that engage learners and support the delivery and success of study programmes
• Provide pastoral support and impartial information, advice and guidance to help learners build confidence and progress
• Support learners to achieve learning objectives, complete portfolios and prepare for assessments and personal development goals
• Assist learners with any medical or health needs while in the centre
• Keep tutors and managers informed of learner progress and supporting communication with learners, parents and relevant agencies where required
• Assist with work experience placements, enrichment activities and progression opportunities
• Provide additional support for learners with special educational needs or Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
• Encourage learners to take an active role in their learning and reflect on their progress during reviews
• Act as key worker for identified learners, supporting engagement, attendance and achievement
• Monitor learner wellbeing and safeguarding requirements
• Support the wider organisation when required and contributing to team and departmental meetings
• Transport learners to activities using public transport, Landau vehicles or your own vehicle where appropriate
• Promote Landau positively and acting as an ambassador for the charity
• Provide management information and organisational support where required

SKILLS AND CORE COMPETENCIES
Technical competency (qualifications and training)
Suitable qualification in teaching, mentoring or learning support - E
Maths and English at level 2 minimum – E
L3 or Degree qualifications or equivalent in a relevant subject – D
Experience
Experience of supporting learners with SEMH and SEN – particularly in functional skills and employability skills- E
Experience working with learners who have issues with anxiety, confidence or who are overcoming disadvantages - E
Experiencing of meeting the requirements of learners with Education, Health and Care Plans – D
Experience planning preparing or adapting resources to meet learner need - E
Skills and attributes
Safeguarding and/or First Aid training or willingness to train- D
Creative and innovative, able to devise practical approaches that will interest and motivate learners – E
Good IT skills and ability to undertake essential administrative or reporting tasks – E
