Neway International are seeking a Social Worker (Children with Disabilities) to join our client based with Achieving for Children.
Location: Moor Lane, Chessington, Greater London, KT9 2AA
Hours: 36 hours per week
Start Date: 24/03/2026
Initially 12‑week assignment
Pay Rate: £28.54 PAYE / £37.52 Umbrella
Work Pattern: 3 days per week on site; induction period (first 2 weeks) will be 5 days in the office
About the Client
Achieving for Children delivers high‑quality children’s services across Kingston and Richmond, supporting children, young people, and families with a strong focus on safeguarding, inclusion, and early intervention. The Children with Disabilities Service provides specialist social work support to children and young people with complex needs, ensuring they receive the right care, protection, and opportunities.
The Role
The Social Worker will work within the Children with Disabilities Team, holding a caseload of children and young people with complex needs. The role involves statutory assessments, care planning, safeguarding, multi‑agency working, and supporting families to access appropriate services. The post holder will ensure high‑quality practice in line with legislation, statutory guidance, and organisational policies.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of children with disabilities, completing assessments, plans, and reviews.
Undertake statutory duties including Section 17 and Section 47 assessments.
Work closely with families, carers, schools, health professionals, and partner agencies.
Develop and implement child‑centred care plans that promote safety, wellbeing, and independence.
Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, taking appropriate action.
Support children and families through transitions, including short breaks and adult services pathways.
Maintain accurate, timely case records and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements.
Contribute to team meetings, case discussions, and multi‑agency planning.
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
Experience working with children with disabilities or within Children’s Services.
Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment, and statutory frameworks.
Ability to work collaboratively with families and multi‑agency partners.
Excellent communication, report writing, and organisational skills.
Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently.
Enhanced DBS (Children’s) required.
