Neway International are seeking a Driver Operative to join our client based with Barnet Council.
Location: 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London, NW9 4EW
Hours: 21 hours per week, Tuesday–Thursday (7 hours per day, including 1 hour in office)
Start Date: 24/03/2026
End Date: 4‑week assignment
Pay Rate: £16.36 PAYE / £21.24 Umbrella
About the Client
Barnet Council’s Planning Service supports the delivery of high‑quality development across the borough. The Field Operative team plays a key role in ensuring planning site notices are displayed accurately, safely, and in line with statutory requirements.
The Role
The Driver Operative will work independently across the borough to prepare, install, photograph, and remove planning site notices. The role requires safe vehicle operation, route planning, accurate record keeping, and a high standard of customer care. This is an active, outdoor role involving travel across Barnet and daily uploading of photographic evidence.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare planning notices and plan daily routes.
Erect notices on street furniture as close as possible to the specified address.
Photograph notices in situ using provided equipment.
Remove notices when required and dispose of them appropriately.
Upload photographs to the appropriate system at the end of each day.
Complete all administrative tasks accurately and on time.
Ensure safe and responsible use of the issued vehicle and mobile phone.
Wear and maintain PPE and follow all health and safety requirements.
Report issues or incidents to the supervisor promptly.
Maintain professionalism and customer care when interacting with the public.
Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Candidate Requirements
Full UK driving licence, own vehicle, and business insurance.
Good knowledge of the Barnet borough (essential).
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Basic IT skills, including uploading photos and route planning.
Ability to work safely, conduct dynamic risk assessments, and follow procedures.
Physically able to install and remove site notices.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
