The Opportunity
This is a multi-billion-pound nuclear construction project that demands precision, innovation, and strategic thinking. As Senior Estimator, you’ll play a critical role in shaping project success by producing accurate cost estimates, supporting tender strategies, and influencing commercial decisions. Your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for major civil engineering packages in line with project requirements.
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents to ensure accurate pricing.
- Collaborate with commercial, design, and procurement teams to develop competitive bids.
- Identify cost risks and opportunities, providing input into value engineering strategies.
- Maintain estimating databases and ensure compliance with governance and audit standards.
- Support tender presentations and client negotiations.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Estimating, or related discipline.
- Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator on major infrastructure projects (£50m+).
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and UK construction cost frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance.
It’s great if you also have the following
- Experience in nuclear or highly regulated sectors.
- Familiarity with estimating software and digital cost management tools.
- Background in civil engineering and reinforced concrete structures.
