Further details about the role

Science is an extremely successful and popular subject at Graveney. Results at Key Stage 4 (91% Grade 9-4) are well above the national average with the majority of students entered for Separate Science GCSE. In addition there are over 200 students of studying A-level Biology at Key Stage 5.

Unlike many other schools, at Graveney, Science teachers will only teach within their subject specialism from Year 9 upwards – this ensures that our pupils are constantly exposed to subject specific experts. The successful candidate will be expected to teach across the full range of age and ability up to and including A-level.

Successful ECT applicants will be enrolled onto our ECT programme, designed to focus on subject specific pedagogy and delivered by our experienced staff. As part of a large Science team you will also have the opportunity to share subject specific pedagogy amongst subject specialists.
