Long Term Futures are recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary SEN school in Barnet, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a structured and supportive specialist setting, helping pupils develop communication, independence and engagement with learning. The role involves providing both 1:1 and small-group support for children with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASD
- Support students with communication, emotional regulation and engagement
- Assist with learning activities across the primary curriculum
- Implement strategies linked to EHCPs and individual support plans
- Work closely with teachers, SEN staff and therapists
- Promote independence, confidence and inclusion
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience supporting children with SEN or ASD
- A patient, nurturing and proactive approach
- Confidence working in a primary SEN or specialist school environment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
- Background in SEN, care, youth work or education (desirable)

- Accessible via High Barnet, Finchley Central and Totteridge & Whetstone (Northern Line)
