About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Learner Admissions & IAG Advisor to provide an outstanding front-line service to prospective and existing learners across our Further Education provision.

Whilst this is a full-time position (37 hours per week), we may be able to offer part-time working hours, working a minimum of 30 hours per week.

This role is predominantly telephony-based, with approximately 70% of your time spent on phone and CRM/dialler systems, supporting learners with enquiries, applications, interviews and enrolments. The remaining 30% of the role is face-to-face, delivering Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) through interviews, events, and enrolment activities.

You will support learners aged 16-19 and adults, using a range of communication methods including telephone, Microsoft Teams, CRM systems and in-person appointments, ensuring a professional, accurate and learner-focused experience at every stage of their journey.

Working Pattern

  • The role includes regular telephone-based work as a core responsibility
  • Face-to-face learner interviews and enrolments form a key part of the role
  • Interviews for 16-18 learners are often held between 4:00pm and 7:00pm, so you will be expected to work these hours on occasion
  • Some evening work will also be required for Open Evenings and events

Key Responsibilities

Learner Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG)

  • Deliver high-quality, impartial IAG tailored to individual learner needs
  • Conduct course guidance interviews (face-to-face, phone and online)
  • Advise on courses, funding options, progression routes and Advanced Learner Loans
  • Assess learner eligibility, suitability and readiness for enrolment

Admissions and Enrolments

  • Process applications accurately in line with College systems, policies and funding rules
  • Organise and support interview events, ensuring a positive learner experience
  • Complete learner enrolments, including documentation checks and payments
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records

Customer Service and Communication

  • Act as a first point of contact for course-related enquiries by phone, email, online platforms and in person
  • Manage enquiries through the admissions mailbox, CRM and main switchboard
  • Deliver timely, professional and accurate responses at all times

CRM and Dialler Systems

  • Use CRM and dialler systems to manage learner communications and follow-ups
  • Record all interactions, outcomes and next steps accurately
  • Use data to support recruitment, engagement and retention targets

Outreach and Events

  • Represent the College at Open Evenings, marketing events and community outreach activities
  • Deliver IAG at schools, external venues and online
  • Support marketing campaigns and gather learner feedback

Teamwork, Compliance and Development

  • Work collaboratively within a centralised admissions and IAG team
  • Provide cover and support across CIS and Employment Services when required
  • Support the training and mentoring of new colleagues
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, safeguarding, health & safety and College policies
  • Produce reports and deputise for the Admissions Manager when required

About You

You will be:

  • Confident and professional on the telephone, with strong communication skills
  • Customer-focused, organised and able to manage a high volume of enquiries
  • Comfortable working with CRM systems and digital platforms
  • Flexible, with the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Passionate about supporting learners to make informed education choices

Why Join Us?

  • Make a real impact on learners' education and career journeys
  • Work within a supportive, collaborative team
  • Opportunities for training and professional development
  • A varied role combining telephony, digital and face-to-face learner engagement
