Randstad Education is searching for adaptable KS1 Supply Teachers to join our team. We work with a diverse range of primary schools in Sheffield that require high-quality cover for short-term absences and long-term parental leave.

The Role

Key Stage 1 is a pivotal time for young learners. As a supply teacher, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering engaging lessons in Core subjects, with a strong focus on Phonics and Numeracy.

  • Managing classroom transitions effectively to keep 5-to-7-year-olds on task.

  • Adapting quickly to different school behavioural policies and routines.

  • Providing brief, helpful handover notes for the returning class teacher.

Requirements

To maintain our reputation with Sheffield schools, all candidates must meet the following:

  • Must have recent UK classroom experience (this is vital for delivering the current KS1 National Curriculum and adhering to UK safeguarding standards).

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Proven experience teaching Phonics (knowledge of Read Write Inc or Little Wandle is highly desirable).

  • A valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
