TeacherActive is currently recruiting Specialist ALN Teaching Assistants to support pupils in welcoming primary schools across Pembrokeshire. These roles focus on providing targeted support for learners with a range of additional learning needs, helping them access education, build confidence, and thrive in the classroom.

Your Role as a Specialist ALN Teaching Assistant

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs


  • Support pupils with needs such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEBD


  • Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and developing independence


  • Work closely with teachers and ALNCOs to support Individual Development Plans (IDPs)


  • Use positive behaviour strategies and structured support approaches


  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment


    What We’re Looking For

    • Experience working with children or young people with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)


    • A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach


    • Strong communication and teamwork skills


    • Experience in schools, care, youth work, or support roles is highly valued


      No formal qualifications? Transferable skills from care, support work, or youth services are welcome.
