A fleet manager is responsible for managing a company's fleet of commercial vehicles and drivers. They're logistics specialists in the transportation industry who oversee fleet maintenance, procurement and replacing of vehicles, driver hire and vehicle and driver utilisation. Fleet managers are also responsible for other human resources, administrative and finance-related tasks relating to the company's vehicles and drivers.leet manager is in charge of a company's fleet of commercial vehicles and drivers. They're responsible for the full lifecycle of each vehicle of the fleet, the drivers of the fleet and providing feedback to management so that the fleet can meet the goals of the company.
The following is a list of driver management operations a fleet manager may oversee:
Monitoring, correcting, and improving driving behaviors and operations
Mentoring, coaching, and rewarding drivers
Assisting in the recruitment, discipline, and termination of drivers
Evaluating drivers’ performances
Setting driving schedules
Tracking driver attendance, health, and other statuses
Ensuring drivers’ adherence to applicable transport regulations (e.g., Hours of Service compliance)
Providing route and operations information and technologies
Maintaining constant communication with drivers
Training drivers on risk management protocols, safety standards, and more.
Requirements:
• Full UK or EU driving licence
• Maximum 6 penalty points
• Must be reliable and punctual
• Must be comfortable using navigation and a delivery device.
You'll need to be over 18 for insurance purposes, have no more than 6 points on your UK driving license, and have the van-do attitude we’re looking for.
