Join a prestigious automotive brand as a Distribution Contract Manager, reporting into Thorne location, however, visits to multiple sites are required as part of the role. Locations are Sywell, Killingholme, Southampton and Thorne.
In the role, you will have the opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge within a dynamic team. This full-time position offers a 37.5-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with flexible/remote working opportunities.
The rate of pay is £42,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Your Time at Work
As a Distribution Contract Manager, your role will encompass:
Planning, monitoring, and controlling the clients' Group Contracts for vehicle logistics for:
- Dealer Deliveries
- Group Deliveries
- Covered Deliveries
- Inter-Compound Deliveries
- Retailer Transfer Deliveries
- Event Deliveries
- Driven Deliveries
- Vehicle Shipping Movements
Nature and scope of main accountabilities:
- Monitor, record and report performance of logistics suppliers.
- Be responsible for monthly and quarterly reviews of logistics partners against KPI's and objectives, ensuring that best practice and process efficiencies are employed and ensuring that all open issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain good relations with key external logistics suppliers to ensure our client attains the required level of service to achieve the national sales targets and customer expectations, in line with Brand Values.
- Control operating volumes at key locations against projected volume predications and supplier lead-time KPI's to avoid "bottle necks" and gridlock.
- Maintaining service provider aged debt situation, to within set parameters and amounts.
- Contract management of the outsourced Vehicle Logistics Team (Retailer Enquiry).
Purpose and subject of interaction with internal/external customers and key contacts:
- Efficient, courteous, and responsive communication with retailers when responding to queries.
- Communicate with all logistics suppliers to ensure timely delivery of cars against their target delivery dates.
- Participation in Internal Management meetings.
- Participate in weekly Quarter Action - Operational Meetings.
- Function as an ambassador of the Vehicle Preparation Centre in all relationships with external Partners.
- Develop and maintain excellent relations with key external logistics suppliers to ensure our client attains the required level of service to achieve the sales targets within the confines of the Logistics Contracts.
- Weekly Planning Meetings and Monthly performance reviews with External Logistics Suppliers.
- Liaise with service providers over resource requirements in line with fluctuating volumes.
Our Perfect Worker
We are seeking a Distribution Contact Manager who ideally has previous experience within a similar role in automotive, logistics, or similar, and who has exceptional communication/negotiation skills, and good time management/administration skills.
Essential Skills:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial position.
- Knowledge of automotive or vehicle logistics industry and the logistics function.
- Proven people management record and the ability to motivate people at varying levels.
- Strong diplomacy skills and the ability to mediate with internal and external groups.
- Proficient in standard Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Product knowledge.
- Ability to problem solve and think on your feet.
