SEMH Teaching Assistant – Long Term Role near Ely
Are you an empathetic, consistent and patient individual with a passion for supporting young people? TimePlan Education is currently recruiting for a Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and specialist school near Ely on a long-term basis.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who face a range of social, emotional, and mental health challenges. You will play a vital role in helping them access education in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
The Role:
Supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis with their learning and emotional development
Helping to manage challenging behaviour consistently and calmly
Encouraging engagement, motivation, and positive outcomes in and out of the classroom
Working collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals
About You:
Previous experience working in an SEMH or similar setting is highly desirable
Candidates with a care or youth work background are encouraged to apply
Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and emotional resilience
Ability to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations
A genuine interest in supporting young people to achieve their potential
