HLTA Opportunity – SEND School (Littleport)
TimePlan Education are working in partnership with a specialist SEND school in Littleport to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their supportive and dedicated team.
This is a 4-5 days per week role, providing PPA cover across a wide age range from EYFS to KS4. The successful candidate will work with pupils who all have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The majority of students have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) alongside additional associated learning difficulties.
The role will include:
Delivering lessons during PPA cover across EYFS, KS1, KS2, KS3 and KS4
Supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs in a structured and nurturing environment
Some lesson planning and preparation
Working closely with teaching staff and the wider SEND team to ensure consistency and high-quality provision
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND
Strong understanding of ASD and associated learning needs
Confidence managing a class and adapting learning to meet individual needs
A calm, patient and flexible approach
A teaching qualification or HLTA qualification would be an advantage. However, unqualified candidates will be considered if they can demonstrate relevant SEND experience and the ability to deliver learning effectively.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a passionate SEND professional looking to make a real difference in a specialist setting.
