About the Opportunity
P4 Recruitment is working on behalf of a well-established children’s residential care provider to recruit a Deputy Care Manager for a service based in Delph, Oldham.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Residential Worker or Team Leader looking to step into a management role within a supportive residential setting.
As Deputy Care Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home while helping create a safe, nurturing environment where young people feel supported, respected, and empowered to move forward in their lives.
Every interaction matters — from supporting young people through challenging moments to celebrating their achievements and progress.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
Step in to manage the service in the Manager’s absence
Supervise and mentor Senior Support Workers and Residential Support Workers
Ensure young people receive the highest standard of care and support
Assist with reporting, documentation, and operational updates
Monitor staff performance and support training and development
Promote a person-centred approach to care for both staff and residents
Help maintain a warm, homely environment
Build strong, positive relationships with young people and staff
Support and participate in activities and outings
Maintain accurate records using electronic care recording systems
About the Service
The home is a 4-bed residential service supporting young people aged 8–18 with a range of emotional, behavioural, and social needs. Some residents may also have experienced vulnerabilities such as exploitation or substance exposure in their previous environments.
The service focuses on providing a safe, stable and nurturing home environment, helping young people build confidence, independence, and life skills while preparing them for adulthood.
The team works collaboratively to create a family-style atmosphere where young people feel safe, respected, and supported to reach their full potential.
About You
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual who is passionate about improving the lives of young people.
You will ideally have:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential care role
Level 3 qualification in Children’s Residential Care / Health & Social Care – Children & Young People
Experience supervising or leading a team of support workers
Strong report writing and communication skills
Ability to support operational management of a children’s home
Flexibility to work shifts where required
Full UK Manual Driving Licence
