Ready to impact a better future?
As a Site Support Engineer in our Space and Security team, you’ll help deliver radar availability that directly supports the safety and security of operations in the Falkland Islands. Your work will have real purpose — helping us create impactful solutions that enable essential services and positively influence communities today and into the future.
You’ll play a key role in supporting the availability and performance of the TPS‑59 radar system, working closely with colleagues and RAF customers to ensure reliable operations. It’s a role where your commitment, care, and focus contribute to a safer environment and offer real headroom for you to grow.
What you’ll do as a Site Support Engineer
You’ll be entrusted to:
- Support the Site Manager and Radar Engineer in meeting and maintaining operational KPIs across various systems and site operations.
- Assist with 1st and 2nd line preventative activities to ensure the systems remain reliable and meet service delivery targets.
- Assist with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line corrective maintenance tasks.
- Engage with RAF customers and representatives to maintain positive working relationships.
- Provide out‑of‑hours call‑out support when required to help maintain system availability and meet service delivery targets.
- Manage and control tools, test equipment, spares, lubricants, and non‑technical tasks at the radar site.
Does this sound like you?
You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:
· SC cleared or have no problems obtaining one.
· The ability to work both independently and as part of a close‑knit team.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a consistent and methodical approach to processes.
· Experience in engineering practices.
· A valid driving licence.
· (Desirable) Experience with vehicle maintenance, inventory control, or food hygiene.
This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
