Neway International are seeking an Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Manager to join our client Redbridge Council.
Location: 255–259 High Road, Ilford, IG1 1NN
Hours: 36 per week
Traget Start Date: 16 March 2026
Duration: Initially for 3 months, extended after review
Work Pattern: 1–2 days per week in the office
Note: The council will consider a 3‑day working week at a higher day rate.

The Role
The EDI Manager will lead the delivery of the council’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion strategy, driving cultural change and embedding inclusive practice across all services. Working closely with HR, OD and senior leaders, you will design and deliver EDI programmes, learning and development initiatives, staff engagement activity and organisational change projects.
This role requires strong strategic capability, excellent stakeholder management and the ability to influence culture at all levels of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of the council‑wide EDI strategy and programme of work.
Provide expert advice to HR, OD and senior leaders on inclusive culture, leadership, performance and colleague development.
Drive organisational culture change with a strong EDI lens, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational plans.
Develop and deliver EDI learning, training and staff engagement initiatives.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support EDI outcomes.
Lead EDI‑related project management, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
Support the development of people management frameworks that promote inclusion and equity.
Provide high‑quality insight, data analysis and reporting to inform decision‑making.
Champion inclusive practice and act as a trusted advisor across the organisation.
Candidate Requirements
Strong experience in Equality, Diversity & Inclusion leadership.
Proven ability to deliver organisational culture change programmes.
Experience working within HR, OD or people‑focused transformation environments.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
Strong understanding of EDI legislation, best practice and workforce development.
Ability to design and deliver training, engagement and development programmes.
Strategic thinker with strong analytical and project management skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across all levels.
