Neway International are seeking a Decant Officer to join our client London Borough of Hillingdon.
Location: London Borough of Hillingdon
Hours: 36 per week
Start Date: 23 March 2026
End Date: ongoing
About the Client
London Borough of Hillingdon’s Tenancy Services team plays a key role in supporting residents across regeneration estates, ensuring safe, well‑managed housing and positive outcomes for tenants. The Decant Team forms part of a wider multi‑disciplinary regeneration hub, working collaboratively across the Council and with development partners to deliver high‑quality, resident‑focused services.
The Role
The Decant Officer is responsible for delivering the full end‑to‑end decant service for tenants and returning residents on designated regeneration estates. This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role requiring dynamic caseload management, strong engagement skills, and the ability to support households with varying needs and vulnerabilities. You will ensure residents are well‑informed, supported, and guided through the decant process, while maintaining accurate records and meeting key programme milestones.
Key Responsibilities
Create and deliver person‑centred decant plans, including plans for returning tenants.
Inform tenants of the service offer and support them to engage at an appropriate pace.
Draft and issue statutory notices as required.
Process Home Loss and Disturbance payments in line with operational guidance.
Arrange removals, disconnections, and reconnections using Council systems and approved contractors.
Undertake ongoing housing needs surveys to maintain accurate, up‑to‑date data.
Track and prioritise caseloads to manage risk and meet programme deadlines.
Support vulnerable tenants, including those who may struggle with practical or emotional aspects of relocation.
Engage creatively and persistently with harder‑to‑reach individuals.
Build and maintain effective partnerships with internal teams and external agencies.
Attend case conferences, reviews, and multi‑agency meetings as required.
Maintain high‑quality case records, reports, and monitoring information.
Contribute to team planning, service development, and continuous improvement.
