Schools across Northampton are looking for caring, dedicated and resilient SEN Support Assistants to join their teams. We partner with a wide range of inclusive Northampton schools that put pupil wellbeing and individualised support at the centre of their approach. These settings provide structured, nurturing environments where SEN staff can make a meaningful impact every day. You'll be part of supportive teams helping students with SEMH needs, ADHD, autism and a variety of learning differences reach their full potential.
What You'll Be Doing
As an SEN Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with SEN and SEMH needs
- Help implement personalised learning plans
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication and social development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff
- Promote positive behaviour and consistency in the classroom
No two days will be the same - you'll be helping pupils grow in confidence, independence and resilience.
What We're Looking For
- Patient, calm and reliable individuals
- A genuine interest in SEN support and child development
- Willingness to undertake specialist training (e.g., autism awareness, SEMH strategies)
- A positive mindset and motivation to improve outcomes for young people
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN
Desirable (but not essential)
- GCSE/O Level or equivalent
- A driving licence (useful for certain school locations)
