Job Description
Mosaic 1898 Direct Payments Support Service are recruiting for a Personal Assistants for the same position in the LE4 7QL.
Working Times: Monday to Sunday, mostly evenings (past 9 pm), 10 hours per week (casual/employment as needed).
To assist in all areas of personal and domestic needs as required, including acting as an escort and aid to the employer’s social and day-to-day activities. The role primarily involves evening shifts, with the PA covering late shifts beyond 9 pm. It is preferred that the PA has a driver’s license and access to a vehicle for late shifts. The PA must be female (as personal care will be given), Gujarati speaking, and preferably non-vegetarian.
Duties (as required, instructed or directed by the employer):
• Assist with personal care support:
• Showering
• Bathing
• Toileting
• Assist with dressing
• Assist with transfers to and from wheelchair
• Preparation of breakfast, lunch, and evening meals
• Support during sleep-over if required
• Assist with catheterisation support (e.g., emptying leg bags) and medication
General household duties:
• Dusting
• Vacuuming/mopping
• Emptying bins
• Making and changing beds
• Cleaning of rooms
• Laundry, drying, and ironing clothes
• Washing up
• Moving & Handling or hoisting assistance (must have experience using a stair lift and bath lift) if required by employer
• Assistance in/out of car from wheelchair and packing/unpacking wheelchair in/out of the car
• Assistance with shopping and related tasks
• Escort to social and business meetings/events
• Wheelchair maintenance and cleaning
• Charging battery-operated wheelchair and checking tyre pressure
Additional Requirements:
• A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is preferred for late shifts
• Experience with stair lifts and bath lifts for showering
• Experience using a stair lift and bath lift is essential
Employment Conditions:
• Business use insurance for the driver’s vehicle is necessary
• This role does not currently support sponsorship applications as it does not meet Home Office criteria

The PA should understand their role to support the employer’s independence, respecting their self-defined needs, and following directions.
Candidate Expectations:

• Arrive punctually and notify immediately if more than 15 minutes late

• Have a current driving license and own vehicle for work use

Training: Daily tasks will be learned through working closely with the employer. Moving & Handling and Hoist Awareness courses can be arranged; formal training certificates are preferred.
