Hours: 36.5 per week
Start Date: 5 April 2026
End Date: 28 June 2026
Pay Rates:

PAYE: £22.51 per hour

Umbrella/Ltd: £30.57 per hour
IR35: Inside

The Role
As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a key role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children and young people. Working within Area Services, you will support the delivery of high‑quality social work practice, hold an allocated caseload, and contribute to assessments, interventions, and multi‑agency planning. You will ensure that statutory responsibilities are met and that the safety and wellbeing of children remain central to all decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities
Hold responsibility for an allocated caseload as directed by the Team Manager.

Collect, analyse, and record information to fulfil statutory safeguarding responsibilities.

Complete assessments that ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

Provide practical day‑to‑day support to children and families as required.

Work collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.

Maintain accurate, evidence‑based case records and produce high‑quality reports.

Communicate effectively with a range of audiences using written and verbal methods.

Take responsibility for ongoing professional development and reflective practice.

Contribute positively to team meetings, service reviews, and overall team performance.

Undertake any additional duties aligned with the needs of the service.

Candidate Requirements
Recognised Social Work qualification and registration.

Strong experience within statutory children’s social care.

Ability to manage a varied caseload and work within established guidelines.

Confident in assessment, risk analysis, and multi‑agency working.

Excellent communication, organisational, and report‑writing skills.

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
