Our local authority client has a great opportunity for HGV/LGV drivers. If you want to be rewarded for dedication and loyalty, enjoy managing your own workload & being outdoors and have excellent people skills then we want to hear from you.
Pay rate for this role is £14.72 per hour, this is a temporary role for a minimum of 5 months.
You will:
Drive and operate a range of waste collection vehicles using safe, efficient techniques in line with client requirements.
Assist in delivering an effective and efficient waste collection and disposal service across locations in the York district while following health and safety requirements.
Ensure the safety of the crew, yourself, and members of the public.Work as part of a team with waste loaders and help with loading duties when required.
You will need:
Driver CPC Qualification.
Full Category C Driving Licence.
Class 2 Driving Licence.
A Digital Tachograph Card.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Experience of working under prolonged periods of sustained physical effort.
Previous experience with waste or recycling would be an advantage although the client will offer in-house, on the job training and instruction on the various vehicles they operate in their fleet, so your experience as a driver will be utilised and your skills and knowledge base will increase.
