Crynodeb

Essential Functions:
• To be responsible for the maintenance and good working order of the Trusts’ academies
• To ensure daily and weekly tasks and checklists are completed including setting up and clearing down lunch set-ups
• To provide a safe, secure and clean working environment for our children, staff and visitors
• To safeguard children in every interaction including a proactive approach to health and safety
• Be committed to teamwork through valuing all team members with effective communication
• To work professionally with all adults, following the code of conduct at all times
• To undertake any other duties as required by the academy or trust, supporting vision and values

The nature of the post may involve considerable physical effort, e.g. lifting or carrying of equipment, pushing or pulling items of moderate weight, relating to the nature of the role. The job involves some exposure to
disagreeable and unpleasant working conditions. This job also requires staff to be available for the majority of the year to assist covering annual leave, sickness and major project work across the Trust Estates.

Security:
o Ensure the academies are safe and secure during opening hours – this can be achieved via site patrols and CCTV usage
o Ensure the premises are unlocked and locked in a timely manner ensuring alarms are set and unset o Ensure cleaning cupboards and site storage areas are always locked

Cleanliness
o Ensure the academies are always clean and tidy. Caretaking staff are expected to ensure high standards of cleanliness and will need to support leadership and work alongside site and cleaning members
o As and when caretakers should regularly carry out the following tasks – litter picking, sweeping pathways, emptying bins, supervise car parks and play areas and minor gardening works
o Ensure consumables are appropriately stocked at all times- this includes, but is not limited to, hand soap, hand towels and toilet tissue

Fire Safety
o To support the Premises Manager in carrying out regular fire safety testing including, but not limited to, checking fire alarms, emergency lighting and fire extinguishers
o To immediately report any defects relating to Fire Safety
Water Safety
o To support the Premises Manager to ensure all Water Hygiene Safety regulations are met including, but not limited to, weekly outlet temperature testing, weekly flushing of little used outlets and tank/boiler temperature checks
o To immediately report any defects relating to Water Safety

Maintenance and Contractors
o To ensure the premises are operating correctly in relation to plant and machinery, power and lighting and report any defects immediately
o To ensure all contractors who are not DBS pre-checked are accompanied at all times and display appropriate ID badge/lanyard
o Ensure all premises are appropriately maintained, cleaned and secured and fit for purpose in line with all relevant legislative requirements
o To undertake routine inspections of the buildings, fixtures, fittings, furniture, premises and grounds and report to the Premises Manager

Budget and Stock Management
o To ensure stock levels are maintained appropriately and report low levels of stock to the Premises Manager

Professional Development:
o Undertake continued professional development and training activities offered and directed o Proactively participating in regular performance management

Assisting the Trust:
o ensure you always meet your statutory safeguarding and equality duties
o commit to professional development, fully engaging with every continuing professional development opportunity presented
o contribute to the development and implementation of all policies and procedures without exception
o attend trips, events, clubs, parent association events and other opportunities as required, including where they may occur out of usual hours
o attend additional meetings and training as required
o develop and maintain effective relationships with all adult stakeholders
o go the extra mile to demonstrate a commitment to “soaring together”
