Merton College is seeking an Admissions Co-ordinator to be responsible for organising the daily work of the Admissions team and support the delivery of a high-quality, responsive admissions service. The role oversees enquiries received in person, by telephone, email and in writing, as well as the processing of applications, coordination of interviews and course offer events, issuing offers, and supporting the enrolment process.
Working closely with academic departments and support services, you will ensure that accurate information and guidance is provided. Supervising members of the Admissions team by allocating daily and weekly tasks, monitoring workloads and supporting staff through appraisals, you will carry out learner enrolments, assess fees and eligibility to study in the UK and ensure that all enrolment activity complies with relevant funding guidelines and college procedures. Accurate data entry and reporting are essential to the role, ensuring that admissions records are audit-ready and maintained in line with MIS requirements.
Our ideal candidate will have experience of effectively supervising or managing staff within a busy customer service and administrative environment. You will have a proven ability to deliver a courteous, responsive and informative service in a client-focused setting, with experience of dealing confidently with members of the public.
You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to interact professionally with students, visitors and colleagues at all levels. The role requires someone who can work well under pressure, meet strict deadlines and manage competing priorities. You will also be confident in using your initiative, with strong planning and organisational skills, and the ability to produce clear and accurate reports for a range of audiences.
Closing date for the return of a complete online application is 25th March 2026.
The benefits package includes generous annual leave of 27 days, plus up to 7 additional days over Christmas/New Year as well as an additional 5 days Wellbeing leave to enhance employees’ physical and mental health. This leave is all in addition to Bank Holiday entitlement. There is an excellent pension scheme that receives a significant financial contribution from the employer, subsidised sports facilities and professional development and training plus a salary sacrifice cycle to work scheme. The benefits package is to be pro-rated for part time staff.
As part of our due diligence checks on prospective employees, successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, an online search and proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
