Are you a BOAS Engineer looking for a stable role within a secure healthcare environment?
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a BOAS-qualified Mechanical Engineer to join an established facilities management provider on a large healthcare site in Colindale.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and fault-finding of steam and hot water boiler systems, as well as associated mechanical plant. This role offers a Monday to Friday 8-5 schedule, making it ideal for engineers seeking a better work-life balance.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced BOAS Engineer, Boiler House Engineer, or Mechanical Engineer currently working in hospitals, government buildings, universities, or critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Operation and maintenance of the steam and hot water boiler plant
- Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
- Fault-finding on boilers, pumps, valves, and pressurisation units
- Monitoring and adjusting systems via BMS
- Ensuring compliance with BOAS regulations and safety procedures
- Maintaining plant room logbooks and compliance documentation
- Supporting mechanical plant upgrades and minor projects
- Liaising with site management and subcontractors
- Working within a multi-skilled engineering team
Package
- Salary up to £55,000
- Monday to Friday
- 40 hours per week
- No call out
- Overtime available
- Long-term healthcare contract
Requirements
- BOAS Certification (Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme)
- City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Be able to pass BPSS Clearance
- Experience working in commercial plant rooms
- Experience with steam or hot water boilers
- Strong fault-finding ability
- Client-facing and good communication skills
