What skills and experience we're looking for

We require an inspirational professional who is passionate about high standards of student progress and an innovative driver of outstanding teaching and learning. As Deputy Curriculum Leader of Technology: Food, you will be dedicated to equipping our students with vital culinary skills, nutritional knowledge, and a love for this important subject, whilst supporting the Curriculum Leader in driving the department's strategic vision and ensuring excellence across the department.

What the school offers its staff

Working at Uckfield College means joining a vibrant, dedicated and skilled team, who are committed to working collaboratively to achieve real excellence for our students. In return we offer a wealth of staff benefits including a Teachers’ pension scheme, professional learning and development opportunities, free parking, an employee assistance programme including counselling services, and well being initiatives such as staff breakfasts, free sports activities and staff social events.

Uckfield College is a highly successful and popular 11-18 school in the heart of rural Sussex, yet within commuting distance of Brighton, Eastbourne and the South Coast. We have an excellent working environment characterised by happy, well-motivated students and innovative and enthusiastic teachers. Following our inspection in April 2024, Uckfield College has been awarded an ‘Outstanding’ rating by Ofsted, both as the overall judgement, and in each of the different categories that are evaluated. The Technology department is a popular and thriving area of the College, housed in excellent, very well-equipped specialist facilities.
