The Education Lead (Teaching and Learning) is responsible for the quality of teaching, learning, and curriculum development across the King’s international family of schools.
Working remotely and in person the post-holder ensures provision is current, compliant with local requirements and authentically King’s.
Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum
• Lead teaching and learning strategy across partner schools
• Oversee curriculum design and implementation, ensuring alignment with King’s ethos and local regulations
• Support schools in addressing underperformance in the classroom
• Support school start-up workstreams to design and embed excellent standards and a King’s international curriculum
Inclusion, Support, and Extension
• Monitor EAL and SEN provision, including identification of need and quality of support
• Oversee academic extension and enrichment provision
• Maintain oversight of relevant academic policies Professional Development and Innovation
• Head staff CPD and induction in relation to teaching and learning
• Stay up to date with and work with partner schools to embed developments in pedagogy, educational technology, and AI
• Share best practice across the family of school
Quality Assurance and Recruitment
• Support quality assurance visits and reporting
• Contribute to teacher recruitment activities
• Partner School Liaison and Reporting
• Act as an ambassador for King’s College School Wimbledon
• Attend and contribute to governor and committee meetings when requested
• Provide regular updates and formal reports to the KCSWI Board on pastoral and safeguarding matters
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
• Dedicated and hard-working character
• Excellent communication skills
• Mission led
• Inclusive personality able to develop positive working relationships across the King’s community in Wimbledon and overseas
• Academic leadership experience in an early year, primary or senior school setting
• Willingness to travel internationally
• Strong administration and planning skills
• A high degree of personal motivation, initiative and energy
• Teaching qualification or experience
• A good understanding of the independent school ethos and commercial aspects of school management
Desirable
• Experience in working internationally (either through having worked overseas or other involvement)
