Your Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Tameside Fostering Service in the role as Service Unit Manager, providing leadership for Fostering Services. This position provides strong and committed leadership and support in the areas of kinship fostering, SGO assessment and support, mainstream fostering and post approval support. It is essential that the successful applicant has experience of Fostering and are able to evidence management experience within regulatory services.
As a member of the Children’s Services Leadership Team, you will work side by side with the Cared for Children and other key stakeholders to ensure that we have a great services for children that we care for, with access to support and development within the role to help you to succeed.

About You
We are seeking a highly motivated, skilful, and creative leader to join our leadership team and support the Fostering Service.
You will be experienced in leadership with a proven track record of delivering quality services for children, young people and carers.
You will be an experienced person manager with the ability to build strong relationships and trust with teams and individuals. You will lead by positive example and be an active advocate for achieving the very best for children, young people and carers.
You will be able to demonstrate clear leadership grip, in order to continually drive progress and performance of our kinship, SGO, and mainstream and post approval support teams.
You will lead the Fostering Service through the national reforms for Fostering and have a clear focus on quality and sufficiency of our care arrangements for children.
