We are seeking a proactive and experienced Operations Supervisor to join our Operations Team and play a key role in delivering high-quality frontline environmental services.
The RoleYou will support the operational management and coordination of:
Waste & Recycling
Street Cleansing
Grounds Maintenance
Enforcement
Vehicle & Transport Management
Working closely with the Head of Environmental Services and Service Manager, you will supervise service delivery, deploy resources effectively, maintain compliance with waste and transport legislation, and promote a strong health & safety culture. You will also support performance management, service planning, business delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring flexibility to respond to operational demands, including occasional out-of-hours working and covering frontline duties where required.
About YouYou will bring:
NVQ Level III (or equivalent experience) and a management qualification (or working towards)
IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent experience)
Category C, C1 or B Driving Licence with valid DQC (Digital Tacho Card desirable)
Experience supervising teams in waste, recycling, cleansing or environmental services
Strong knowledge of health & safety and waste legislation
Experience operating waste collection vehicles, sweepers, plant and specialist equipment
Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
The ability to manage performance, HR processes and stakeholder engagement effectively
