Crynodeb
To work as directed, and under the supervision of the registered nurse in charge of the department. To work in the Paediatric Community service supported by the Orthoptist. Measure vision and visual acuity for distance & near as appropriate using Snellen or Thompson charts. Perform auto refraction on post-operative cataract patients. Measure spectacle prescriptions using automated focimeter. Perform rebound tonometry. Perform Visual field analysis Perform Optical Coherence Topography Perform Anterior and fundal colour photography Perform B Scan Assist with the Intravitreal injection Service Instil dilating eye drops in accordance with protocols Accurately & legibly record test results in patient case notes / ophthalmic database. Seek guidance from a senior member of staff when clinical results necessitate. To help promote and maintain the patients individual rights and personal cultural beliefs. To acknowledge and support individual patients dignity and specific needs at all times. Ensure that every opportunity to promote health education is undertaken at all times.
