Decant Officer needed in North London Paying £22.98 per hr ref 1699767

Full time hours on a temporary basis

  • Main Responsibilities

    Resident Support & Communication
    • Act as the main point of contact for residents requiring temporary or permanent decants.
    • Provide clear, empathetic guidance and support throughout the moving process.
    • Arrange and attend home visits, meetings, and consultations with affected households.
    • Keep residents fully informed of timelines, options, and rehousing processes.
    Case Management
    • Create and manage detailed case files, ensuring accurate records of all decant activity.
    • Assess households’ individual needs, including support, vulnerabilities, or adaptations.
    • Coordinate temporary accommodation or permanent rehousing options in line with policy.
    • Monitor progress of each case and ensure decants are completed within required timescales.
    Operational & Logistical Support
    • Arrange removals, storage, disconnection and reconnection of utilities, and other move‑related services.
    • Carry out property inspections before and after decants to ensure condition standards are met.
    • Work closely with repairs, contractors, voids teams, and surveyors to plan works schedules.
    Partnership Working
    • Liaise with housing officers, tenancy sustainment teams, property services, and external agencies.
    • Ensure vulnerable residents receive appropriate support and referrals where needed.
    • Support wider regeneration or major works programmes by coordinating resident moves efficiently.
    Compliance & Policy
    • Ensure all decants follow organisational policies, legal requirements, and statutory guidance.
    • Keep clear audit trails of decisions, costs, and resident communications.
    • Support the preparation of reports and updates for senior management.
