We Care
That’s why we need people like you. People who appreciate their role in helping others to be successful.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Smart Metering Planner to join the Anglian Water Alliance, supporting an efficient and coordinated rollout across the region.
You’ll help ensure the programme runs smoothly by aligning operational planning, stakeholder needs and smart infrastructure deployment to maximise installation success and minimise disruption.
Whether you already have planning experience or want to build a career in planning, this role offers variety, responsibility and development opportunities, with full training provided.
The role
As a Smart Metering Planner, you’ll develop and manage rollout plans to support regional smart meter targets. Working closely with operational teams and stakeholders, you’ll ensure work is scheduled efficiently using clear, data-driven insights.
You’ll turn complex operational requirements and data into practical plans that help field teams meet monthly and quarterly targets.
Here are some of the activities you will be involved in…
- Create rollout plans for the AMP8 smart metering programme
- Ensure installations align with smart infrastructure to maximise connections
- Coordinate with meter reading, scheduling, communications, work request and contact centre teams
- Produce maps and visuals to show remaining targets and highlight risks
- Analyse completed work and upcoming targets to improve planning
- Raise work orders on time to support operational delivery
- Communicate with key stakeholders across the business
- Escalate risks or issues to the Planning Manager and Smart Metering Team
- Support development of Power BI reporting and automated planning processes
We would love to hear from you if…
You have strong analytical skills, enjoy working with others, and like solving operational challenges.
You’ll ideally be educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent) with at least two years’ experience in an operational environment. You’ll have good data analysis skills, an understanding of operational planning, and experience using SAP and Microsoft applications. Strong communication, organisation and prioritisation skills are important, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You’ll also be flexible, proactive, and able to respond to changing operational demands.
