The Role

As a Chef at Elizabeth Finn Homes, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality meals in line with dietary needs and preferences. You will work closely with our care teams to ensure that every dish served supports the health and happiness of those we care for.

Key Responsibilities


Prepare, cook, and present meals to a consistently high standard, adhering to menu plans and dietary requirements.
Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly followed in accordance with HACCP guidelines.
Manage kitchen stock levels, ordering supplies as needed to avoid shortages or waste.
Collaborate with care staff to accommodate special dietary needs, allergies, and preferences.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment at all times.
Contribute to menu development, suggesting seasonal and nutritious meal options.
Assist in training and supporting kitchen assistants and junior staff when required.


Qualifications & Experience


Proven experience as a Chef within the Catering & Hospitality sector, preferably in a care home or similar environment.
Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations with relevant certifications (e.g. Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate).
Ability to prepare meals for special diets including diabetic, vegetarian, vegan, and allergen-sensitive menus.
Strong organisational and time management skills with a keen eye for detail.
Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
