About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Lead Electrical Engineer to join our team at a brand-new client site inKingston. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team supporting the launch and ongoing operation of a newlydeveloped, state-of-the-art facility.
In this role, you will deliver high-quality electrical maintenance and engineering services, ensuring building systems are safe, compliant and operating efficiently. You will be responsible for both plannedpreventative maintenance (PPM) and reactivemaintenance, helping to maintain critical electrical infrastructure andsupporting a reliable working environment for the client.
You will also playan important role in supporting site operations, supervising subcontractors andcontributing to a safe and compliant workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance & Fault Diagnosis
- Diagnose electrical faults and repair assets within your technical capability.
- Carry out routine maintenance to ensure systems meet regulatory and best practice standards.
- Complete electrical testing and verification of minor electrical works.
- Carry out like-for-like asset replacements and minor installation works when required.
Operational Delivery
- Manage reactive tasks and planned maintenance activities in line with service level agreements.
- Undertake risk assessments for electrical maintenance tasks and always work safely.
- Respond to emergency call-outs and attend site to provide engineering expertise outside of normal hours.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used and time spent.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all work complies with Health, Safety, Environmental and industry regulations.
- Maintain tools, equipment and PPE in good working condition.
- Keep up to date with changes in legislation and electrical best practice.
- Follow safe systems of work and established procedures.
Team & Stakeholder Support
- Supervise specialist subcontractors on site.
- Support and guide apprentice engineers where required.
- Build professional relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
- Report activity progress and highlight issues to the Technical Services Manager.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
- AM2 qualification.
- City & Guilds Level 3 Inspection & Testing.
- Around2+ years’ experience in an electrical maintenance environment.
- Strong understanding of electrical compliance and engineering standards.
- Experience working safely and following Health & Safety procedures.
- Ability to diagnose faults using asystematic problem-solving approach.
- IT literate, with experience usingMicrosoft Office and maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload independently.
- Strong communication skills and team collaboration.
