We are currently recruiting Senior Support Workers for a new children’s residential service in Coventry. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people in this full time, permanent role.

About the service
The service is a 2-bed home designed to support children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Shift pattern
2 on / 4 off rolling rota pattern which includes sleep in shifts. Typical shift times are 7.30am – 11pm long day followed by a sleep in 11pm - 7.30am and another long day 7.30am – 11pm.

Pay rates
£13.50 per hour for unqualified staff, working towards level 3.
£14.50 per hour for level 3 qualified staff.

Successful candidates for this role will be patient, empathetic and resilient, having previous experience working in children’s residential settings, and must hold a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or be working towards achieving this qualification.

Responsibilities
The role of a Senior Support Worker involves shift leading and supporting the Deputy and Manager to ensure the home runs smoothly with all staff and young people feeling supported. You will be supporting young people’s emotional and behavioural needs through daily guidance and structure. Undertaking supervisions and guiding support staff to ensure consistent care and adherence to policies. Implementing care plans and behaviour management strategies tailored to each young person. Maintaining accurate reports and records about incidents, progress and well being.
Ensuring a safe and supportive environment that promotes stability, well being and development for the young people.

Requirements
Previous experience working in Children’s residential settings is essential
Previous experience working in EBD settings or similar is desirable.
Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or be working towards achieving this qualification
A full UK driving licence is desirable.
