Vehicle Technician (Including Motorsport / Race Support)
Location: Horley Area
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 6:00pm
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Vehicle Technician to join a well-established specialist workshop based in the Horley area. This role offers a rare combination of mainstream workshop work alongside hands-on motorsport involvement, supporting race weekends throughout the year.
This position would suit a skilled technician who enjoys variety in their work and has a passion for performance or motorsport environments.
The Role
Working as part of a specialist team, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of mechanical work within the workshop, as well as supporting race events during the season.
Key responsibilities include:
• General servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs on predominantly Italian vehicles
• Supporting with some diagnostic work where required
• Preparing and maintaining vehicles to a high standard
• Providing race weekend support at selected motorsport events
Motorsport / Race Support
The role includes attendance at approximately 6–8 race weekends per year, which are included within the salary package. These typically run Thursday through to Saturday or Sunday, with return travel home on Sunday evening.
• Accommodation and all expenses covered
• Team environment including social elements (BBQ, refreshments, etc.)
• Monday off provided following late race weekend returns
• Additional race weekends paid as overtime (£100 per day) and fully expensed
• Opportunities to attend European race events
Requirements
• Strong experience carrying out general mechanical work
• Basic diagnostic capability
• Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 points)
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Desirable (but not essential)
• MOT Tester licence
• Senior technician experience
