Construction Trainee – Long‑Term Progression into Project Management

Salary: £Negotiable + structured training + progression

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and growing facades business in Milton Keynes, operating within one of the most buoyant and fastest‑growing sectors in UK construction. The company works within the façade, cladding and building‑envelope market (commercial and residential), a specialist area experiencing huge demand due to fire‑safety legislation, cladding remediation, energy‑efficiency upgrades and modern architectural design. It’s an outstanding time to get involved, with long‑term stability, strong project pipelines and a genuine opportunity to build a career from the ground up.

You will be joining a lean, highly skilled team and working directly under an experienced Operations Director who will train and mentor you. This is a hands‑on role where learning on the job is encouraged, and natural progression leads to a Project Manager position.

The Role – Construction Trainee

Based in Milton Keynes, you will support the operations side of the business, gaining both office and on‑site experience. You will learn how projects are planned, coordinated and delivered, while assisting with a wide range of operational and technical tasks, including:

• Assisting with running live projects
• Supporting contract administration and project coordination
• Helping with CAD design tasks (full training provided)
• Measuring and taking off materials
• Conducting site surveys and gathering site information
• Liaising with site staff, subcontractors and suppliers
• Placing orders on internal systems
• Helping set up site activities such as scaffolders
• Reviewing project documentation and supporting operational planning
• Shadowing the Operations Director and learning directly from experienced professionals

This is a varied, practical role where you will gain real responsibility early on and develop the skills needed to progress into project management.

Candidate requirements
• Strong mathematical ability
• Good IT skills
• Confident communication
• Full UK driving licence
• GCSE Mathematics grade C (4/5) or above
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Interest in construction and how buildings are put together
• Reliable, motivated and keen to build a long‑term career
