Classic Car Paint Sprayer – Alton Area | £40–45k + Bonus
We are recruiting on behalf of a highly respected classic car restoration specialist known for producing some of the finest restored vehicles in the industry.
Due to a long-standing team member retiring, they are looking for an experienced Classic Car Paint Sprayer to join their skilled restoration team near Alton. This is a rare opportunity to work on some of Britain’s most iconic vehicles and help deliver world-class restorations.
The Role
Working closely with the workshop team, you will be responsible for preparing, painting and finishing classic vehicles to an exceptional standard, ensuring every restoration leaves the workshop with a flawless finish.
You’ll be working on prestigious marques, mainly British classics, and other classic vehicles from the 1960s and 1970s.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out high-quality paint preparation and spraying on classic vehicles.
• Produce glass-like finishes with perfectly sculptured body lines.
• Perform high-level filler work to achieve perfectly straight bodywork.
• Colour match accurately using solvent-based paint systems.
• Work collaboratively with the paint and panel teams to move restorations efficiently through the workshop.
• Maintain clear and accurate time sheets detailing work carried out.
• Communicate professionally with customers when required regarding work completed or in progress.
What We’re Looking For
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working with classic vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of solvent-based paint systems and finishing techniques.
• Exceptional colour matching and finishing skills.
• Proven ability to achieve show-quality finishes.
• Excellent filler and body preparation skills.
• Team-oriented with strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
• Comfortable discussing technical work clearly with colleagues and customers.
What’s On Offer
• £40,000 – £45,000 basic salary
• Christmas bonus (typically around £2,000)
• 20 days holiday + Bank Holidays
• Monday–Friday schedule (8:30–5:00 with 30 min lunch)
