Our client, a highly reputable educational institution in Nailsea, Somerset, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Full-time SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with diverse educational needs, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.

As the SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing personalised support and guidance to students, ensuring they receive the individualised attention and resources they require to thrive. Your role will involve working closely with teachers, counsellors, and other professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that caters to the unique needs of each student.

Your day-to-day duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing one-on-one or small-group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to develop coping strategies, self-regulation skills, and a positive mindset.
- Assisting students with academic tasks, offering guidance and encouragement to help them overcome learning challenges and achieve their full potential.
- Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement individualised learning plans, ensuring that each student's unique needs are met.
- Monitoring and documenting student progress, communicating regularly with teachers and parents to provide updates and feedback.
- Participating in multi-disciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and contribute to the development of holistic support strategies.
- Maintaining a safe and nurturing classroom environment, adhering to all relevant safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Actively participating in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with SEMH needs.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a genuine passion for working with children and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by students with SEMH needs. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to think creatively and problem-solve, and a strong commitment to promoting inclusive and equitable education.
