As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be an integral part of the team, collaborating closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement tailored strategies that cater to the unique needs of each student. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one or small-group support to students with a wide range of SEND, including learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and behavioural challenges
- Assisting with the delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons, ensuring that all students are able to actively participate and reach their full potential
- Helping to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment that fosters the social, emotional, and academic growth of each student
- Monitoring and documenting students' progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and other professionals
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and plan next steps
- Offering emotional support and guidance to students, helping them to develop essential life skills and build confidence

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a deep understanding of SEND and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse needs. You should have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, and a strong background in implementing evidence-based strategies and interventions. Excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team are also essential.
