F&B Bartender St. Martins Lane Hotel

St Martins Lane Hotel

The Opportunity

At our 5-star lifestyle hotel, the bar is more than a place—it’s a vibe. From signature cocktails to spontaneous celebrations, we’re looking for a Bartender who can shake, stir, and serve unforgettable moments with every pour.

Your Role
As a Bartender, you’ll be the storyteller behind the bar—crafting drinks with flair, connecting with guests, and setting the tone for stylish, social experiences. Whether it’s a quiet nightcap or a buzzing Friday night, you’ll bring energy, elegance, and expertise to every shift.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Mixology: Execute a diverse menu of classic and contemporary cocktails with absolute consistency, adhering to house recipes and exact British Standard units.

• Bespoke Recommendations: Provide expert guidance on spirits, rare vintages, and craft beers, tailoring suggestions to the guest's specific palate and mood.

• Bar Ownership: Maintain a pristine, "theatre-ready" bar environment. This includes meticulous mise-en-place, garnishing prep to a culinary standard, and continuous cleaning during service.

• Guest Engagement: Act as the face of the bar, managing guest experience by engaging guests in professional, sophisticated conversation while multi-tasking.

• Inventory & Cost Control: Take ownership of stock levels, minimising wastage through precise pouring and ensuring all high-value spirits are accounted for and correctly rung into the EPOS system i.e. Micros.

• Compliance & Safety: Rigorously uphold UK licensing laws (Challenge 25) and ensure the highest standards of food hygiene and health and safety are met at all times.

• Departmental Synergy: Work in total "sync" with the floor team to ensure drinks are prepared and dispatched to tables with speed and presentation that matches the hotel's prestige.

Benefits

Ideal Candidate

• London Luxury Experience: Prior experience in a high-end London cocktail bar, 5* hotel, or reputable private members' club.

• Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of spirits (provenance and distillation), wine, and classic cocktail history.

• Speed & Elegance: The ability to work at high volume while maintaining a calm, graceful "theatre" behind the bar.

• Communication: Exceptional command of English with the ability to articulate complex flavour profiles to a diverse international clientele.

• Professional Commitment: A desire for a 40-hour career-focused contract. We seek individuals who view hospitality as a profession.
