Crynodeb
Hours: 24 hours per week, including a rota of on call during weekends and evenings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Client Care & Support
Provide person-centred care to service users in their own homes, promoting independence and ensuring dignity and well-being at all times.
Encourage and facilitate social interaction and participation in community-based activities where appropriate.
Monitor service users' health and well-being, promptly reporting any changes or concerns to the Care Manager or relevant professionals.
Leadership & Supervision
Supervise, support, and mentor a team of support workers, ensuring that high standards of care are maintained.
Conduct one-to-one meetings, supervision sessions, and support for staff, providing guidance on best practices and professional development.
Assist in the development and implementation of care plans and risk assessments.
Ensure staffing levels are maintained and coordinate with the registered manager to cover shifts or any absences.
Compliance & Documentation
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, incidents, and service users' progress in accordance with the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 and Care Inspector of Wales (CIW) standards.
Assist with medication administration and ensure accurate record-keeping of medication logs.
Ensure that all care practices comply with relevant legislation, including safeguarding, health and safety, and the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014.
Operational Support
Assist in the induction and training of new staff, ensuring they are equipped to provide excellent care.
Provide feedback to the registered manager on team performance and any areas for improvement.
Ensure that care delivery is tailored to meet individual needs, in line with Welsh care standards and regulations.
Participate in audits, quality assurance checks, and action plans to improve service delivery.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of person-centred care and the needs of individuals with complex care requirements.
Previous experience in a senior care worker or similar role within domiciliary care.
Knowledge of Welsh care regulations and standards, including the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016, the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and CIW.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of support workers.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with service users, families, and colleagues.
Ability to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
Previous experience in a support worker or senior care role, particularly within domiciliary care.
Willingness to register with Social Care Wales.
A thorough understanding of CIW and Welsh social care regulations.
Experience in administering medication and working with complex care plans.
