Crynodeb

As the public face of the property, you’ll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit.

This role is based at our Stoneacre property in Otham, Kent, although you may occasionally be asked to work at one of the other properties in our group, Sissinghurst Castle Garden or Scotney Castle.

The property is open at selected weekends and Bank Holiday Mondays from 11 April to 27 September 2026.

Salary: £12.75 per hour - we’re currently undertaking our pay review process and it is likely that this salary will be increased from 1st April 2026.

Contract/duration: Fixed Term Contract ending 27 September 2026

This is a zero-hour contract, meaning we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evening or split shifts.

For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

What it's like to work here
Stoneacre is a perfect example of a Wealden Hall House, and is full of beautiful collections of furniture, wood and metal work. It features a great hall and is surrounded by glorious gardens, orchards and meadows.

What you'll be doing
Based at Stoneacre, you'll be part of the Welcome Team which includes our amazing staff and volunteers. Reporting to the Welcome Manager, you'll deliver a great all-round customer service experience and be on hand to answer queries and listen to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can. You’ll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the visitor experience - no two days are the same. Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide.

You will also be the Duty Manager and First Aider at Stoneacre - full training will be provided.

This role would suit anyone with enthusiasm for delivering great customer service.

We'd love to hear from you if you're:

willing to learn new skills
have a positive attitude
