Salary: £21,699.37 gross per annum (£23,614.02 FTE)
Hours: 34 hours per week (working pattern below)
Location: Barmstaple Library

Interview date: Tuesday 31st March 2026 at Barnstaple Library
Week 1:
Monday: 9:00am – 6:00pm (8 hours) with a 1 hour unpaid break
Tuesday: 9:00am – 2:00pm (5 hours)
Wednesday: 9:30am – 5:00pm (6.5 hours) with a 1 hour unpaid break
Thursday: 9:00am – 5:00pm (7 hours) with a 1 hour unpaid break
Friday: 8:30am – 5:00pm (7.5 hours) with a 1 hour unpaid break
Total: 34 hours
Week 2:
Monday: 9:00am – 6:00pm (8 hours) with a 1 hour unpaid break
Tuesday: 9:00am – 5:00pm (7 hours) with a 1 hour unpaid break

Barnstaple Library is looking for a Customer Service Assistant to deliver a friendly, proactive and responsive frontline library service, ensuring the best possible customer experience for all users.
We are looking for someone who has good digital skills, a love of reading and enjoys interacting with people of all ages.
Part of this role will involve delivering children's activities including Bounce & Rhyme sessions and Story Times; you will need to be confident interacting with babies and small children.
We would welcome a new team member who is creative, imaginative, organised and customer focussed.
