Are you skilled at developing future leaders and building capability across large programmes?
Can you create a culture that champions continuous improvement and professional excellence?
If so, come and join us as a Senior Digital Project Manager within DWP Digital.
DWP has a complex IT estate and manages some of the largest services in Europe. It engages across Government departments and touches millions of citizens across the UK, including some of the most vulnerable. Failure of our services isn’t an option.
We are currently delivering ambitious modernisation programmes to ensure our systems and services are fit for the future whilst maintaining existing services.
Our work includes developing new services from the ground up ensuring they meet both user and customer needs and deliver simplification for our operational colleagues.
You could be delivering a specific IT service, running an existing service, managing suppliers to delivering or setting up a new development team. But you will always be part of a team within a supportive environment.
We have a number of roles across our teams from leading IT delivery teams and squads to managing stakeholders and supplier delivery within the broader IT sphere.
You will be a true leader who serves, steering from the front. You'll remove blockers and create the right environment for your multidisciplinary team to succeed, helping them to self-sufficiency and creating a culture of learning and transparency.
DWP has a complex landscape, and you’ll need your skills as a persuasive and engaging communicator. You’ll solve cross-cutting problems and use your experience of delivery to get the job done.
We’re looking for someone who can do the hands-on delivery of products and end to end services. You will see them through from initiation to live whether in software development or managing stakeholders and suppliers.
You will use your expertise and experience in the most appropriate methodology and management tools to deliver and build a culture of continuous improvement within your high performing team. DWP uses both agile and traditional project management and you will need to demonstrate experience with both in the work environment.
You will promote user-centred design, applying it to the software development lifecycle.
Day-to-day you will be working with experts in software engineering, business process design, user research, user experience design and policy development. You will also be working across Projects and teams to ensure successful outcomes.
Building and manage stakeholder relationships across internal teams, other Government Departments and suppliers, proactively identifying risks and issues and managing these.
Communicating with a host of stakeholders at all levels, managing them effectively to ensure successful delivery, e.g. Architecture, Security, Networks, Commercials, Finance and Digital Workplace Tech Services; along with Other Government Departments and Law Enforcement Agencies/External Providers.
You’ll join a thriving community of practice, where you'll share best practice, insight and support with a bunch of other talented and expert Delivery Managers.
