We have a Band 6 senior rehabilitation nurse role for our 33 bedded rehab unit to cover for Maternity leave for 8 months. This role is unique as they rotate between 2 sites namely Athlone and Alexandra Rehabilitation unit and into the unit’s admission screener post to develop your operational skills and working with our acute partners.

We work as multidisciplinary team to ensure we deliver high-quality person-centred care in an environment that is friendly, patient and staff focused and rewarding. You will be working with a varied multidisciplinary team consisting of; Gps, Nurses, Occupational therapist, Physiotherapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Dietitian, rehabilitation assistants and podiatrist.
Our bedded rehabilitation service aims to empower patients to recover from episodes of ill-health and optimise their level of independence enable them to resume living at their usual residence.
This is a 24 hour a day 7 days a week service operating 365 days a year therefore the post holder will be expected to work shift patterns to cover the service including Early, Lates, Long Days, Nights, or a combination of both.
• To be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care
• To work in a collaborative manner and liaise with other professionals and agencies to ensure a high-quality service for patients
• To lead and monitor the performance and work of the nursing team
• To provide a stimulating environment for patients and carers
• To be part of the Clinical screening rotation
• To ensure the effective running of the Ward in the absence of the Ward Manager
