Neway International are seeking a PA – Personal Advisor 11+ (children with disabilities) to join our client based with Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council.

Hours: 37 per week

About the Client
Rhondda Cynon Taf CBC’s Disabled Children with Complex Needs Service supports young people aged 16+ as they prepare for independence and transition from care. The 11+ Team provides tailored advice, pathway planning, and ongoing support to ensure young people are safe, included, and equipped for adulthood.

The Role
The Personal Advisor will work alongside Social Workers to support disabled young people with complex needs as they approach and move beyond their 16th birthday. You will provide direct support, coordinate pathway plans, promote independence, and ensure young people have access to suitable accommodation, education, training, and community opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
Acting as Personal Advisor for young people aged 16+ preparing to leave care

Supporting the development, review, and delivery of pathway plans

Assessing needs relating to health, education, training, and finances

Providing direct support to young people living independently

Coordinating access to accommodation, education, and employment opportunities

Managing financial assessments and arranging payments in line with 16+ policies

Delivering individual and group sessions to build life skills and reduce isolation

Maintaining regular contact and clear expectations around support

Working collaboratively with families, accommodation providers, and partner agencies

Ensuring accurate, timely case recording and adherence to safeguarding procedures

Candidate Requirements
Experience working directly with young people

Knowledge of adolescent development and safeguarding

Ability to assess needs and contribute to care and pathway planning

Strong communication, organisation, and record‑keeping skills

Experience working with multi‑agency partners

Understanding of equal opportunities and anti‑oppressive practice

Ability to travel independently across RCT

Enhanced DBS required

Flexibility to work outside standard office hours when needed
