Community Care Worker
Honiton, Ottery St Mary, Sidmouth, Seaton & Surrounding Villages
Up to £26,000 per year | Paid for your whole shift | 45p per mile (on top of pay)
A care career where your time, compassion and personality are genuinely valued
At Beehive Care Devon, we believe the best care happens when carers feel supported, listened to and part of something bigger. We’re a local, family‑feel care provider with strong community roots — and we do things differently.
Whether you’re experienced or brand new to care, we’ll invest in you with proper training, friendly mentoring and a genuinely approachable team who are always on hand.
We pay you for your whole shift — including travel time and gaps between visits — so you’re never rushing care or watching the clock.

Shift patterns designed around real life
We offer regular, consistent shift patterns to provide structure and reliability, with flexibility where possible:

7:00am – 2:00pm
7:00am – 4:00pm
4:00pm – 10:00pm

A variety of shifts is preferred but not essential.
✅ Alternate weekend availability is essential, covering at least two shifts per weekend.

A truly different approach to contracts in care
We’re proud to offer contract options that suit different lifestyles — including something genuinely new and enticing within the care industry:
Salaried contracts – paid for the full duration of your shift
Ideal for those wanting consistency, security and routine

Guaranteed salaried pay for your entire shift (not per call)
Minimum 3 shifts per week, including alternate weekends
No worrying about gaps, cancellations or unpaid travel time

Flexible contracts – work around your availability
Perfect if you need flexibility

Pay‑per‑contact, starting from £13.00 per hour
Enhanced rates for evenings and weekends
Casual working with no fixed commitment

All carers receive 45p per mile travel allowance on top of their wage — whichever contract you choose.

Where you’ll be working
You’ll be supporting people to live independently in the communities they love, covering:
Honiton, Ottery St Mary, Sidmouth, Seaton and nearby villages

What your role will involve
Every day is different, but you’ll be making a real difference by providing:

Warm, respectful personal care and encouragement
Support with meals, medication and daily routines
Genuine companionship and emotional support
Simple visit recording via our Beehive Care app

✨ New to care? That’s absolutely fine. We’ll support you every step of the way and help you build confidence at your own pace.

Why carers choose Beehive Care Devon
We’re not just a care provider — we’re also a training provider. That means we have the time, resources and expertise to truly nurture our staff and help them grow.
When you join us, you’ll benefit from:

Full‑time, part‑time or flexible opportunities
Guaranteed full‑shift pay or casual flexible options
45p per mile mileage allowance, paid on top of wages
Paid training, care qualifications & specialist courses
Clear personal development and progression pathways
28 days’ holiday, Employee Assistance Programme & staff discounts
Free uniform and PPE
A family‑feel company that puts heart into the community
Regular staff meetings, training days & social events (including Christmas parties!)
An open‑door office policy — pop in anytime for support, PPE, a cuppa, or help with your development plan

Even though care work is often lone working, you are never alone at Beehive — teamwork and support are at the heart of everything we do.

What we’re looking for

A full UK driving licence and access to a reliable car
A kind, reliable, can‑do attitude
The right to work in the UK
