Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Bolton - Office-based (5 days per week) + site visits as required

Overview
Our client is experiencing a strong period of growth and has a significant pipeline of live and upcoming projects. They are now seeking a capable Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This role will act as a No.2 to the Commercial Manager, providing essential support while independently overseeing a portfolio of non-complex projects.
This opportunity is suitable for both developing QS professionals and those who are more experienced. The team is youthful, energetic, and collaborative, offering an excellent environment for someone keen to progress and take ownership.
About the Role
The Quantity Surveyor will manage their own group of projects, typically 4 to 5 at any one time with values ranging from £500K to £2M. The role involves regular communication with the Commercial Manager while taking responsibility for day-to-day commercial duties.
Project types include:
- Fit out
- Refurbishment
- Maintenance
You'll be joining a growing commercial team that currently includes a Graduate QS, an Apprentice QS, an Estimator, and a Contracting Estimator.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial aspects of allocated projects from start to completion
- Prepare cost plans, bills of quantities, and tender documentation
- Conduct valuations, manage variations, and handle cost reporting
- Liaise closely with the Commercial Manager for project oversight and commercial strategy
- Support decision‑making with accurate financial data and forecasting
- Work collaboratively with project managers, site managers, and wider teams
- Ensure all commercial processes are aligned with company standards and industry regulations
- Conduct site visits as required
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
About You
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction, fit-out, or maintenance environments
- Able to manage small-to-medium value projects independently
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Suitable for both early‑career QS professionals and more seasoned candidates
- Ability to work full-time from the office with flexibility for site travel
